University of Ghana, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and Zenith University College will battle each other in a special tournament to determine the final qualifying team in the 2015 UPAC Basketball Championship.
The move to find the last slot has become necessary following the late withdrawal of University of Development Studies (UDS).
UDS has indicated their inability to participate in the championship due to internal challenges.
The three second best teams in the Greater Accra region – University of Ghana, Zenith University College and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) will thus get another chance to attempt qualification after they failed to do so in the respective zones.
GIMPA lost the zone 1 pot to the University of Professional Studies while Zenith lost zone two to defending champions Accra Polytechnic.
Marshalls University College qualified at the expense of the University of Ghana in zone three but will get a real opportunity to make amends.
The one-day mini tournament takes place at the centre court of the University of Ghana on Sunday April 19 at 3pm.
Already the University of Professionals Studies (UPSA), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Polytechnic, Takoradi Polytechnic, Accra Polytechnic, University of Cape Coast (UCC) and University of Development Studies (UDS) have booked their tickets for the final from April 23-25 in Accra.
