The final qualifying round of the 2015 UPAC Basketball Championship takes place at the University of Ghana centre court on Saturday April 11.
Ghana’s Premier University, the University of Ghana are paired in the same group alongside Wisconsin International University College, Marshalls University College and Central University College.
The round-robin format will see only one of the tertiary institution advancing to the finals later this month.
On paper, the University of Ghana will go into the encounter as the huge favourite considering their past performances and current form.
Despite losing to Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in a recent warm-up game, the University of Ghana seems to have the depth in quality to see off their group opponents.
But they will be wary of the threat posed by Wisconsin and Central University College in particular as they boast of some of the emerging talents in the West African country.
The University of Ghana will take on Central University College in their opening game before clashing with Marshalls and Wisconsin University in a six blockbuster games expected to be shown LIVE on basketballghana.com
The round-robin format will see the winner join six others – University of Professional Studies (Greater Accra zone 1), Accra Polytechnic (Greater Accra zone 2), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Polytechnic (Ashanti zone), Takoradi Polytechnic, University of Cape Coast (Central/Western zones) in an enthralling final from April 23-25 in Accra.
