Sedem TeteviHo Polytechnic point guard Sedem Tetevi remains defiant about his team’s chances ahead of the 2015 UPAC Basketball Championship qualifiers.

The Ho-based institution kick start their campaign with a tricky tie against Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration on Saturday March 14 in Accra.

The side must fend off competition from Pentecost University College as well as host University of Professional Studies to pick the sole ticket to the finals.

They will count on the experience of key players including Joseph Alem Butias, Clinton Akpaloo, Patrick Mawuli Kpodo, Agbator Richardson and others to steer the team to victory.

Indeed they can boast of a crack squad of impressive talents who have enjoyed decent run in their respective careers over the years.

The lack of facilities has accounted for their low key performances in recent years but that is all about to change with the construction of two modern courts which has generated interest among players.

Tetevi, a former captain of Keta Senior High,  insists they are primed for the challenge ahead.

“The few days of training has seen a tremendous improvement in our teamwork,” he told BASKETBALghana.com

“Team discipline has gone to a new level and the presence of  players like Joseph Alem Butias, Clinton Akpaloo, Patrick Mawuli Kpodo, Agbator Richardson and  myself are ready for the big challenge.

“There are many up-and-coming players in our squad. We are not preparing for the group phase but aiming at the ultimate title.

“Our presence in this tournament will bring basketball to another level in this country.

In his usual proverbial stunt, the ever-smiling influential leader said: “Don’t check the depth of a river with both legs”.
