Chris-Paul-Clippers-300The Golden State Warriors’ offensive game – the best in the league – will be put to the test on Sunday (9.30pm, SS6) when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.

It’s a match-up between two real Western Conference contenders that have split their first two head-to-head meetings this season.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, undoubtedly one of the best effective pairs in the league this season, pose a major threat to the Clippers defence, considering the Warriors’ league-high 109.0 points and 27.2 assists per game.

On the other hand, the Clippers who signed Nate Robinson on a ten-day contract, led by All-Star guard Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan has nothing to lose by putting in their best effort.

There are more similarities than differences between these two teams, who have won seven of their last ten games.

While the Warriors currently lead the West, the Clippers are fifth, as both teams keep the playoffs on the horizon.

But, what makes this Warriors side special is the fact that they also rank as the best defensive team in the league.

Meanwhile, Jordan, who tops the league with 14.5 rebounds per game, gives the Clippers plenty of reasons to stay positive.

With the intensity level that the Warriors (48-12) are currently playing at, they are likely to seal a playoff berth in the next few games, while the Clippers (40-22) may follow suit.

And, if Blake Griffin, who has missed eleven games this season through injury – returns to action against the Warriors on Sunday, then, we’ll have a must-see snapshot of two potential Western Conference finalists.

The Warriors, who hold the best home record (25-2) in the league this season, comeoff a comprehensive 104-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday morning, while the Clippers will try to bounce-back from a 98-93 home defeat against Portland on Thursday morning.

Curry has been amazing throughout the season, averaging 23.8 points per game. He had 28 and 14 points, respectively, against the Clippers this season.

Let’s see if comes up with yet another big performance on Sunday.
