Wisconsin University College basketball captain Samuel Kofi-Gyimah Amoako has launched an audacious target of winning this year’s UPAC Basketball Championship crown.
The North Legon-based institutions is among 21 others who will compete in the prestigious basketball championship among tertiary institutions in Ghana.
Wisconsin must first negotiate their group games against defending champions Accra Polytechnic, Ghana Telecomm University College and Marshalls University College before they can start dreaming of winning the ultimate.
But team captain Samuel Kofi-Gyimah Amoako is unperturbed and remains defiant about their chances to excel.
“The pain and the glory. Those who belong to the top always find their way back to the top,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com
“After an impressive performance at the 2014 PUSAG games, we hope to replicate that in the UPAC Championship.
“We are aiming for the top and nothing can stop us from winning the ultimate. We know it’s not going to be easy but we can do it if we put our mind to it.
“We know we are in a difficult group and will play some of the best teams but we’re also very strong side capable of beating any side on a good day.”
Wisconsin will parade some of their finest stars including Cedric, Alfa and Gyimah himself.
The 2015 UPAC Basketball Championship takes place features institutions from six regions and will run from Saturday February 28- April 11.
