CEPS versatile player Baniba Dodzie is confident his side can retain their title in the 2015 West Africa top eight basketball competition later this month.

The Ghanaian powerhouse are the defending champions after winning the crown last year.

They are back in the midst again where they travel to neighbours Benin to begin their title defense amid huge expectations.

CEPS have won the Greater Accra League for a record 15th consecutive time and do not look tired with another major championship starring them in the face.

They have remained the face of Ghana basketball at the international level and will again hope to mount the podium to collect gold at the end of the four-day exercise.

Dodzie, who doubles as a shooting guard and small forward, is eyeing another success with the Ghanaian giants.

“Playing in Africa has its own dimensions but I believe we’re going there to defend the crown,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com

“I believe we have the men capable of doing that because we have done that before.

“The last time not many people gave us the chance to excel but we did in the end and we hope to do well again.

“Team spirit is high and we’re highly motivated to win the trophy again.

The top-eight competition involves champions from the sub-regions such as Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger, Benin, Liberia, Cote D’voire and Togo.
