GROUP C: ( OPOKU WARE/ GSTS/ TEMA SHS/ POPE JOHN)
Favourites to Break: Opoku Ware and Pope John
Unlike other groups, it is not easy to easily pinpoint which team will easily walk through this one. All the teams with the exception of Tema Senior High in a sense dominate or play second fiddle in their respective regions,
Opoku Ware and Pope Johns however, edges the others at the national level by virtue of their semi-finals appearances.
Opoku Ware won the bronze medal last year, are the second most successful team in Ashanti region and have been to the national semi-finals twice.
They come into this year’s tournament with last year’s fans’ MVP, Kwaku OwusuAnsah.
GSTS on the other hand have been struggling in the post Sydney Larbi era and even qualified to this year’s tournament on the wild card.
Pope Johns on the other hand have been regular quarter finalist since 2009, making it to the semi-finals in 2012. They also won the Eastern Region championship last year.
Tema SHS is the least decorated of the bunch and have yet to make it out of the group stages.
