BASKETBALLghana.com assess the strength and weaknesses of group B which includes champions Ketasco, Bompeh, Accra High and Akosombo International School.
GROUP B: (KETASCO/BOMPEH/ACCRA HIGH/ AKOSOMBO INTERNATIONAL)
Favourites to Break: Ketasco and Accra High
Keta Senior High: The reigning champions and second most successful team in the Sprite Ball Championship (5 times Volta Region champs, four-time finalists and one time national champions), Ketasco are expected to easily cruise through this group despite having lost three of their key players to graduation (Sedem Tettevi, John Tei-Okumoh and Eli). Their main competition will come from Accra High who even though are not as decorated, have been quite regular at the national event.
Bompeh are debutants but the fact that they qualified at Western Region at the expense of powerhouse GSTS, speaks volumes of their potential.
Akosombo, the only private school in the tournament has had erratic performances in the past and their best showing was in 2012 when they made it to the quarter finals.
