Former Koforidua Secondary and Technical School, Emmanuel Ekow Amoako, has bemoaned the failure of the school to qualify for January’s Sprite Ball finals.
The former Eastern Regional champions were dealt sucker punch when they failed to qualify for the first time.
KSTS are gradually losing their spark as the most dominant force in the region with rivals Pope John and new entrant Mpraeso Senior High stealing the limelight this year.
Ekow Amoako, who captained the side to win many laurels in the region is disappointed with the turn of events.
“It’s a shame that they (KSTS) will not be there. We expected them to follow our footsteps but unfortunately they failed in that regard,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com
“There are new players on horizon and so will take time for them to gel. We have to be patient with them and hope they can bounce back stronger.
“But I must admit I am really disappointed. We have been consistent in this championship and expected the same consistency this time around.
“Nevertheless we shall be there in our numbers to support the other schools representing the region.”
Amoako, a current level 200 student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology played for the White Team during the All-Star Game on Wednesday December 24.
He will again be in line to play the second All-Star Game during the Sprite Ball finals on January 10 at the El-Wak stadium.
