Basketball’s most coveted trophy at the Senior High School level in Ghana is embarking on its historic first ever tour in the run-up to the 2015 Sprite Ball Championship, giving more than ten thousand fans the opportunity to see it up close.
The road show to showcase the trophy is part of measures to whip up enthusiasm among fans and got off to a flier in the capital this week.
Over the next couple of days, the Trophy will travel to the 24 schools expected to take part in the famous championship in Accra scheduled for January 9-10, 2015.
The Trophy visited Labone Senior High and Presbyterian Senior High –Osu on Monday where the team was greeted by an ecstatic crowd.
The next trip takes place in the Eastern Region on Tuesday where Koforidua Secondary Technical and Pope Johns will catch a glimpse of the glittering trophy.
The trophy will then visit participating schools in the Volta, Central, Ashanti and Western Regions respectively.
The 2015 Sprite Ball Champioship is gaining massive momentum in the West African country with fans eagerly awaiting the biggest basketball even in Ghana.
Keta Senior High and TI Ahmadiyya are the reigning champions in the boys and girls division respectively.
