The Eastern Regional Sprite Ball Championship qualifying campaign nearly turned bloody when Koforidua Secondary Technical School clashed with their sworn-rivals Pope John Seminary and Junior High School last Friday.
Fans of the two giants went at each other in a physical confrontation which led to the suspension of the final game.
The two teams threw stones at each other and could have ended up bloody but for the timely intervention of school authorities.
They two school were playing in the finals at the main court of Koforidua Secondary Technical school when the fight broke out, but no injuries were recorded.
Both schools have secured qualification for the championship but the bragging right over who is the king of the game in the region dominated the hugely emotional encounter.
The two schools have been rivals for many years and go at each other with the remotest of issues.
The road to the 2015 Sprite Ball final has gained massive interest with schools in the various regions jostling for places in the national final in Accra.
