FadipeFormer Nigerian star Lewis Fadipe will headline the 2014 Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp as the chief instructor.

The forward is among high profile instructors expected to supervise the one-week clinic at the Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

Fadipe and his colleagues will interact with players aged between 10-19 and take them through the rudiment and fundamentals of the game in the West African country.

He is expected to bring his rich experience to bear during the six-day stay in the capital and take the budding talents through the various stages of the game.

Fadipe is top notch having played basketball right from the bottom to the high level and will be added piece to this year’s camp in the Central Region.

“It is a well know fact that a leader should posses certain qualities. Confidence, charisma and knowledge of material are a few qualities that come to mind,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com

“A sport in general builds confidence and charisma. I have been involved in sports from a very young age. Athletics, soccer, martial arts, swimming, polo all shaped my foundation in sports.

“As a teenager I found my passion and calling in Basketball. I have been involved in basketball on all levels, as a player, a coach and also player scouting and management. Needless to say I have a vast understanding of basketball as a sport and as a business.

“ I have played at the high school level, collegiate level and also the professional level.

He added: “I have coached beginner and intermediate level players. I have also assisted in scouting and managing players for a sports agency.

“My many years of experience in basketball has not only given me the above mentioned characteristics of a leader but has also added discipline, teamwork, reliability, the ability to give or follow instructions, the ability to achieve set goals or meet deadlines and most importantly passion for the game.

The move is part of plans by Rite Multimedia to ensure the development agenda is put on course and build the capacity of these mushrooming talents.

Last week NBA and Miami Heat star Chris Bosh was in Ghana to participate in the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic.

The platform will offer him the opportunity to interact with the kids and take them through the basic understanding of the game.

Over 100 participants are expected to take part in the seven-day  residential event in the coastal town of Ghana.
