Paul George rescued the Indiana Pacers from elimination of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday against the defending champions Miami Heat who lead the series 3-2.
George poured in 15 of his game-high 37 points from behind the arc and Indiana narrowly beat Miami 93-90.
“It’s going to be a totally different ball game (Game 6 in Miami). But we have to rise to the challenge. It will be a fun matchup,” George said.
With LeBron James scoring only 7 points, especially for spending much of the second and third quarters on bench because of his early fouls troubles, it was Rashard Lewis who sparked the Heat with six three-pointers en route to 18 points.
Lewis, who has replaced injured Chris Anderson in the starting line-up, came to Game 5 with only three three-pointers made in the entire playoffs, but he ended up causing Indiana a lot of discomfort especially in the finals minutes of the game.
“They always have somebody out there that can shoot the basketball,” Indiana coach Frank Vogel told reporters when asked if they found had trouble to stop Lewis.
