Tema Youth coach Emmanuel Quaye was left livid after his side failed to match-up to CEPS in the biggest match of the season last weekend.
CEPS managed a 74-52 win over their bitter rivals to maintain their 100% record in the competition.
Another League title is almost in the bag after just the second match of the campaign with Tema Youth largely seen as the side to stem the tide this term.
But following their defeat to their opponent, CEPS are almost certain to go through the campaign with a defeat-which is routine anyway over the past years.
Tema Youth trainer Emmanuel Quaye, nicknamed, ‘rubberman’, rued his side’s chances against the champions.
“Obviously I’m really disappointed because we wanted to stop them (CEPS). But unfortunately we gave the ball away easily and they punished us,” he told BASKETBALLghana.com
“It’s a depressing moment for me and the players but we also have to admit that CEPS have the strongest team.
“It’s been like this for over ten years and so we need to continue to work hard. They cannot continue to dominate forever.
“Surely they will be stopped at some point. We’ll attempt to do that again during the second round.”
A sense of sadness and gloom permeated Tema Youth and that happened well before Baniba Dodzie rubbed it in their face with an endless charade of dunks, blocks and athleticism.
Days after their narrow win over Holy Family became official; Tema Youth learned they’d lose yet another key piece to their roster. And for once, it didn’t involve an injury.
Dodzie relentlessly provides energy, hustling for looseballs, setting up teammates on pick-and-rolls and making outside shots with dependable accuracy.
