Braves of CEPS and Tema Youth go head-to-head in the biggest match of the Greater Accra Basketball series on Friday.
Undoubtedly the biggest clubs in the capital, the two will square off at the Lebanon court in Tudu seeking for a win to serve as real boost to their title ambitions.
The game has been heightened by the fact that Tema Youth have acquired some new crop of players who look hungry for success and will mount a strong challenge for the title which has remained elusive.
But CEPS completed a regular season sweep of Tema Youth last season. And while that they can’t be completely be dismissed, it’s hard to imagine Tema Youth as having an upper hand on CEPS. In fact, it’s impossible to imagine.
CEPS have current Ghana’s best player Baniba Dodzie as well as Hashim Brimah in the midst while Tema Youth can count on new Cameroonian import Edwin as well as old foes Selorm and Mark.
Outside Dodzie, who will no doubt be the biggest factor in this series, is the matter of rest. Tema Youth have had plenty, while CEPS have had none. The Custom Excise Division side recently returned from Liberia after participating in an eight-nation tournament and zoomed straight into the series.
They have had little rest but that didn’t show when they dismantled Panthers 120-57.
To mention out that Tema Youth defense gives CEPS trouble would be akin to pointing out that the sky is blue.
Over the last few years, Tema Youth have struggled against their opponent but their tough talking coach Emmanuel Quaye, nicknamed has insisted his side will have the last laugh after Friday evening.
If you were hoping that the first round of the playoffs would somehow offer answers for the enigma that CEPS have become, dream on. Watching this team go on with uncountable wins, they have has gotten many to wonder just what this team is all about.
This is obviously the biggest game of the calendar and expected to attract numbers to the venue.
Perhaps the cracker has come off too early.
An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a coworker who has been conducting a little
homework on this. And he in fact ordered me breakfast simply
because I discovered it for him… lol. So allow
me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to
discuss this matter here on your web site.
