Dante-Cunningham-131115-Grabs-G-300Minnesota Timberwolves player Dante Cunningham was arrested for the second time in three days, US media reported.

The 26-year-old American was arrested Sunday for making terrorist threats, said Minnesota police officer Chris McGill. Under US law “terrorist threats” casts a wide net and can include directly or indirectly threatening or terrorizing someone.

Cunningham had earlier been arrested Thursday and charged with felony domestic assault against a women.

A criminal complaint obtained from the court, says a female told police that during an argument at Cunningham’s Minneapolis home, he slammed her against the wall and choked her. The women is believed to be his girlfriend.

Cunningham was released from jail on Friday and had rejoined the team on the weekend.

The Timberwolves released a statement but declined to go into detail about the arrests.

“The situation with Dante Cunningham is very fluid and we continue to monitor all available information,” the NBA team said in a statement. “We reiterate that the Minnesota Timberwolves do not condone the behavior described in the accusations.

“We continue to wait for the legal process to run its course and will have further comment when appropriate.”
