Aggrey Memorial star Joana Danso was nothing short of a sensational and a juggernaut for much of the 2014 Sprite Ball Championship held in Accra almost two weeks ago.
The sky looks to be the limit for the impressive guard after she ended the competition by winning the best individual accolade – the female MVP following her sterling performances at the El-Wak stadium.
Danso shockingly stole the march off Real Amass’ Rachel Obeng, who was voted the fans’ favourite player to win the overall MVP.
The youngster, in her third year with the Cape Coast-based side corralled a numbers of rebounds in their final defeat against the debutant.
She put up arguably eye-popping displays in front of a packed crowd at the venue but it was never to be as they lost their crown – failing to defend it in the process.
But she was took solace in her personal thrive and believes the positive campaign will bolster his self-belief.
“I have to say thanks again to my teammates who have done a good job of getting me involved in the game, setting me up with great passes,” Danso told BASKETBALLghana.com
“There have been times when I’ve been lucky, I’ve been alone but my colleagues have been superb in this tournament.
“I’m very happy to have taken a step forward, to be a better player than last year.
“That gives me confidence, I feel good.”
She is among a list of individual will be sponsored by Coca-Cola to travel to South Africa next month for an educational trip.
