Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone has been fined $25,000 for verbal abuse of a game official and not proceeding directly to his locker room following the completion of the game, it was announced Sunday by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.
Malone’s actions occurred following the Kings’ 91-90 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Jan. 17, at FedExForum.
Also, Indiana Pacers forward David West has been fined $15,000 for elbowing Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin in the jaw, Thorn announced.
The foul on West, which was a Flagrant 2 and resulted in his ejection, occurred after time had expired in the second quarter of the Pacers’ 106-92 win over the Clippers on Jan. 18, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
