The 2014 Sprite Ball Championship has been slated for live television coverage, organizers have confirmed.
The draw which will be held live in the studios of TV on December 30 will attract top dignitaries including chairman of the Ghana Basketball Association David Addo-Ashong as well as two-time former WBC Welterweight champion Professor Azumah Nelson.
The anticipation is building for the draw, the whole world will find out who will play who in the ultimate basketball fiesta in Ghana.
An initiate of Rite Multimedia, the draw live on national television will be the first ever and give a clear sense of fairness in the pairing process.
It will put to rest all the conjecture that sometimes characterize the pairing over the years with fans having a firsthand knowledge on the schools their respective teams will be playing.
“For the first time in the history of the competition, the draw will be held live on TV,” Rite Multimedia chief executive Yaw Sakyi Afari said
“We have some big players in the industry as well as professor Azumah Nelson being involved in the balloting process.
“This is another big step towards making the process of balloting more transparent.”
The 2014 Sprite Ball Championship will be held at the El-Wak stadium between January 10-11 in Accra.
