Yaw SakyiChief Executive of Rite Multimedia, Yaw Sakyi Afari, believes many Ghanaian budding talents will emerge from the maiden edition of the Sprite Expressions next week.

Over hundred rappers and dancers will converge at the Aviation Social Centre to exhibit their god-given potential in front of expected packed house on Tuesday December 24.

The West African country abound in many talents and the Sprite Expressions is expected to unearth many of such mushrooming breeds with a mega recording deal top of the agenda for participants.

The event will serve as a prelude to the main Sprite Ball Championship which takes place between January 10-11 at the El-Wak sports stadium.

Speaking on TV3’s Inside Sports on Wednesday, Rite Multimedia chief, Yaw Sakyi Afari, expressed his optimism about the success of the event insisting it will unravel many hidden stars.

“As a prelude to the main Sprite Ball Championship in January, Sprite has opened another window of opportunity for talented rappers and dancers to showcase their skills,” he said

“We’re expecting a full house because the kind of interest shown by potential rappers and dancers has been overwhelming.

“I am extremely confident that we’ll unearth the next Okyeame Kwame’s, Richie’s and co. who have consolidated their reign and versatility.

“It’s important such a platform is created and we’re grateful to Sprite for such an opening.

“Am also glad to say that we have partnered TV 3 to deliver another masterpiece for numerous lovers of rap, dance and basketball in Ghana and beyond.

“We believe people can make a living out of music and dance and that’s the platform that the Sprite Expressions presents.

“We’ve got skillful rappers and dancers in this country and I have no doubt in my mind that they will explode.”

The one-day event will also see Senior High Schools in the Greater Accra region and selected schools from Central, Ashanti and Eastern Region in particular participate in a contest to select teams to play at the national final at the El-Wak stadium between January 10-11 in the capital.

“It’s going to be a day of rap, dance and basketball and once that nobody should miss for anything in this world.” he added

A special side attraction of an All-star game will also feature prominently at the Aviation Social Centre.

Players who have featured in the competition in the past will lit up the venue with an exhibition game.

Some of the former stars including Julian Morgan, Edem Dompe, Retting Akrasi, Sydney Larbi, Emmanuel Ekow Amoako, Jeff Mintah, Edem Quist, Charles Annan, Nana Baidoo and Francis Lamptey amongst others will be heavily involved.
