LPRC Oilers basketball club of Liberia joined Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria in the race to the final round of the Africa Champions Cup for Men with a 63-56 points win over CEPS Braves basketball club of Ghana.

With the big Tuesday night the Liberian league champion finished the zone-3 eliminatory round with a 4-1 record to place second behind Kano Pillars who top the qualifying round without dropping a game.

Nigeria second representative Union Bank basketball club finished third with a 3-2 record, Ghana CEPS Braves was fourth with a 2-3 record while Liberia other representative NPA Pythons basketball club waited until the last day of the qualifier to record it only win against Young Sportman Club of Sierra Leone (54-49) to finish fifth thus leaving the Sierra Leonean at the bottom of the six-team elimination series.

The women category was an all Nigerian affairs as both First Deepwater basketball club and Dolphins basketball club were the two teams that showed up for the qualifying round out the five that initially entered for the competition with First Deepwater winning both legs of the qualifier as both sides made it to the final round of the continent biggest women club basketball competition holding from November 20-30 in Morocco this year.
