CEPS will travel to Togo to play an international friendly against Swallows in preparations for next month’s FIBA Africa senior club Championship.
The Ghanaian side have been preparing in earnest for the championship over the last two weeks in Accra.
Head coach Brimah Lawah will use the friendly to sharpen the skills of the team ahead of the championship in Liberia’s capital of Monrovia between October 7-15.
The Ghanaian side will leave Accra for Lome on Friday to play the Swallows on Saturday, before engaging an unnamed side on Sunday morning before departing to Accra.
“We will leave for Togo on Friday to play two friendly matches in preparations for the African Senior Club Championship,” Greater Accra Basketball boss Benjamin Baafi confirmed to BASKETBALLghana.com
“We will play Swallows on Saturday and then engage another team on Sunday morning before we return Ghana Sunday evening.
“We want to take assess our team and see how battle ready we’re for the championship.
“Like I have we said we don’t want to go there and add up to the numbers.
“We have been training for the past two weeks to trim the rough edges ahead of the championship.
“The friendly has come at a right time and will take advantage of it to improve the squad.”
Both teams are using the friendly to prepare for next month’s Championship in Liberia.
CEPS have dominated the Greater Accra Basketball series in the West African country for over a decade and will be required to improve on their fourth position achieved nine years ago in Cote D’voire.
