Patrick Akoto and Hawa Suleiman to MC maiden Ghana Basketball Awards

Two of Ghana’s promising Journalists Patrick Akoto and Hawa Suleiman will host the maiden edition of the Ghana Basketball Awards on Friday June 7.

The young and ambitious journalist who hosted Basketball TV in 2012 is expected to step to the big plate at the Studios of TV Africa when he comperes alongside TV Africa’s gorgeous morning show host Hawa Suleiman.

The two are expected to be a ‘magnet’ that pulls not only basketball fanatics but millions of viewers as the historic event unfolds LIVE from the studios of TV Africa on Friday June 7.

The first Ghana Basketball Awards is a collaboration between the Ghana Basketball Association and Rite Multimedia (an Accra-based event company).

The award gala is focused on rewarding outstanding players and stakeholders who have contributed significantly to the growth and popularity of the game.

Indubitably, basketball in Ghana has made giants strides and has quickly risen to become the second most preferred sports amongst the youth in the country.

The event, which will be heralded with glitz and glamour, would be telecasted LIVE on TV Africa from 8pm.

Awards are up for grabs in 17 categories, with more than 150 guests drawn from sporting fraternity, businesses, some members of the Diploma corps, government and media amongst others expected to fill the TV Africa auditorium.

The response has been overwhelming for Friday’s big function which will see serious competition for honours in the various categories.

The two promising journalists are battle ready to rock GH with nothing but absolute tantalizing experience.
