Lions survived a late scare to cruise to 50-46 win over Panthers in the opening match of the 2013 Greater Accra Basketball League.
The Ashaiman-based side had to dig deep late into the fourth quarter before sealing the much-needed win at the Lebanon court.
Panthers defended hard, shot well from close range and ran the pick-and-roll to near the perfection, with catching passes but failed to get the required result.
