Tamale Polytechnic ladies failed to defend their trophy after they were beaten 35-20 by Kumasi Polytechnic on Wednesday.
The defending champions have simply been poor this season and once again went down to their opponent in the ongoing Ghana Polytechnic games in Takoradi.
The team lacked stamina, speed and aggression required to make it count as they laboured to another disappointing defeat.
With a round-robin format involving four teams in their group, the defeat virtually kills off their ambitions of retaining the crown after they lost their opening game to host Takoradi Polytechnic.
It’s a bizarre end for a side that showed so much promise and power play during the last edition two years ago.
They’ve lost virtually their star players and will need to go back to re-organize and come back into the party in 2015.
