Mfantsipim completed a hat-trick of titles after defeating Koforidua Secondary Technical School 46-36 to retain their Sprite Ball title on an eventful Saturday night in Accra.
The defending champions kept their composure and tactical discipline to kill off the ambitions of the Koforidua-based side at the centre court of the Aviation Social Centre.
The game plan of the Cape Coast-based side worked to perfection with a sweet and attacking flair of basketball artistry that excited the over 8 thousand fans at the venue.
Mfantsipim took an early lead in the first quarter before their opponent clawed their way back into the game to draw level in the second quarter.
It looked as if the game plan of catching Mfantsipim on the break didn’t work out as the ‘Moba’ boys kept cool heads to take a commanding lead in the third and when it got to the fourth quarter, it was obvious the players of KSTS had lost their vim and power-play.
Julian Morgan put the icing on the cake with sublime back pass that saw Maxwell Mod soaring above everybody to deliver the title.
Young enterprising centre forward, David Akuffo, was voted the MVP for his individual brilliance for the two-day event.
He was presented with a brand new laptop courtesy title sponsors SPRITE.
