Ghana’s impressive adventure in the 2012 Afro Basketball Championship was brought down to earth after they lost their quarter-final clash against Cote D’voire.
The Ghanaians had enjoyed an amazing run in their debut appearance but the defeat to the Ivorian had ended their ambitions of causing a stir in Mozambique.
They trailed their opponent from the jump ball as they found the experienced Ivorians difficult to crack.
Ivory Coast went ahead to clinch the title after beating Egypt 57-42 before accounting Senegal 71-62.
Ghana placed 8th at the competition.
