Ghana’s Under-18 team will battle Cote D’voire in the quarter-finals in the 2012 Afro Basketball Championship on Thursday.
The Ghanaian displayed character and flair to qualify from their group after placing second.
Paired alongside Mozambique, Tunisia, Rwanda and Mali, the West African side managed victories over African champions Tunisia (47-45), Mozambique (66-47) and Rwanda but suffered defeat to Mali.
The other quarter-final pairings will see Angola battle Mali, Mozambique taken on Senegal and Tunisia battling fellow North African Egypt.
The is the first time that the Ghanaians are taken part in the continental competition after years in the doldrums.
