Anglican Junior High are gathering their loins to defend the Eastern regional Milo Junior Ball Championship on Saturday February 25.
The Betom-based school displayed sheer brilliance and determination to win the title in their debut season at the Koforidua Secondary Technical School (KSTS) main basketball court.
Star player Adio Bismark was a scoring machine at the championship last year, something basketball fans in the zone knows too well after watching the local city star in action the past few years.
The Most Valuable Player of the 2011 edition, after leading team Anglican to gold in Koforidua, Bismark is prolific when it comes to putting the ball in the basket.
He erupted for a young career-high 10 point for his side in their 25-24 win in overtime against rivals Roman Catholic School in the finals last year.
His team-mate Paul Gyamfi also played a vital role in that title-winning side and both he and Bismark are among the side’s that will compete in this year’s competition.
The likes of KOVOC, Seventh Day Adventish Church, St Dominic and Pentecost Basic School amongst others are primed to give the defending champions a good run for their money.
Fans favourite Joseph Keteku was the toast of fans at the tournament with some daring runs and breathtaking piece of skills on the court for St Dominic and his inclusion in the set-up will prove another masterpiece for his side this term.
