It’s been a good championship so far for the host in the ongoing 2010 Sprite Ball Championship in the Brong Ahafo region.
The Sunyani Girls have become the first side to qualify for the semi-finals of the championship after an 18-2 victory over Presec Bechem Senior high in a one –sided game in front of a packed crowd
The young girls followed that victory up following a startling display that saw them overpower Twene Amanfo Senior High 12-0 in their opening game.
The debut appearance for schools in the Brong Ahafo region is turning out to be one great one for the host side as both their boys and girls seems to get the better part of most of the participating schools.
The boys counterpart strolled their second victory a while ago-beating nemeses Twene Amanfo (Tastech) 21-2 to the delight of the hundreds of fans gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of the games.
Both have booked their place in the semi-finals of the championship set to roll out in the next couple of minutes at the main basketball court of Susec.
Expectations among the home fans especially have reached an epoch stage as they await anxiously to make the final grade.
Only four schools two (two each from the boys and girls) will qualify for the grand-finale in Accra in two month’s time.
