Chairman of the Ghana basketball Association, David Addo- Ashong, has tasked young players in the country to remain focus and discipline in their build up to attain super stardom.
Delivering a message at the grand finale of season-2 of Community Dunks, the affable and ever-smiling basketball chief in the West African country stressed the need for burgeoning talent to pay attention to their coaches and be discipline in their chosen field since according to him is the only route to success.
Eight communities in the Greater Accra region took part in what many have described as an improved performance from players and coaches in the one-month long tournament.
The various teams showcased great skills, amazing defensive network, implausible rebounds, team chemistry and team work. However the lack of many goals in the competition should be a source of worry to the coaches who will need to work more on their team’s attacking proficiency.
But the country’s basketball capo reckons the future looks bright for the game in Ghana and employed the basketball youngsters to be an agent of change.
‘I’ve been very happy with what I have seen you exhibit and it gives me great joy that there is huge prospect in you all and I will urge you to continue in this stride’.
‘We as an association are fully committed to supporting Rite Multimedia to ensure they continue this wonderful project of developing and promoting the game in the country’.
‘I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you for how far you’ve come in the competition. and for the winning team you’ve done yourself and your community proud.
