The boys are beginning to separate from the men, and group B has proven to be the most competitive group, with all teams having realistic chance of making it into the semi-final stage.
All four teams are on the same points after they all recorded one win and a defeat in the ‘group of death’.
Two weeks ago it was defending champions Cantonment and Maamobi –Nima who were on the losing front-denting their hopes of staging a claim for the title. But they bounced back strongly on Sunday to put smiles on the faces of their respective fans-triumphing at the expense of giant killers Teshie-Nungua and Ashaiman.
The final round of matches will determine which two teams will clinch their ticket to the knockout phase.
Cantonment and Maamobi –Nima battle each other on September 25 with Coach Raphael Ahadzie’s Ashaiman needing to get a result against Teshie-Nungua who were blown apart by an inspired performance by Abeiku Solomon’s young ballers.
All teams in the group must show character and determination to qualify from the group and a lot will be at stake at the University of Ghana basketball court.
All roads will lead to the venue with fans expected to be keenly involved in the action. Their pressence and support will be appreciated by their respective teams as they battle for the available two slot for next weekend’s round of semi-final pairings.
Community Dunks is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Indomie with support from 90 Minutes Newspaper and Metro TV. (Weekly highlight of the show on Metro TV on Thursday from 5:00 pm.
