Greater Accra basketball chairman, Benjamin Baafi, has praised the level of play in the ongoing season -2 of Community Dunks.
The much awaited U-18 championship took centre stage over the weekend at the University of Ghana with lots of shocking results and excitements.
Defending champions began the defence of the title they won last year on a negative note- losing 32-38 to new entrant Teshie-Nungua.
There were also victories for host Legon, Ashaiman and Sam Tagoe’s Kaneshie on the opening day fixtures and the level of passion exhibited by the players excites the basketball chief.
‘I have been impressed with what I’ve seen here today and it shows that the future of the game as we keep saying is very bright.’ Baafi told basketballghana.com
‘Of course some of the players are making some elementary mistakes but that is expected because of the age. But am positive they will listen to their coaches and they will get better with time’.
‘We need to commend Rite Multimedia for such an initiative and from what I’ve seen here today, we will hit the right cord in time’.
Community Dunks is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Indomie with support from 90 Minutes Newspaper and Metro TV.
