Braimah Lawah wants to end the title drought by clinching season-2 of Community Dunks.
The veteran coach who was in charge when Ridge were beaten to the title last year, is fortunate to have majority of players who participated in the maiden edition available because they fall within the age band.
The man who also doubles as the coach of CEPS will have Legon, Kaneshie and Tema to contend with in the group stages before thinking of making it into the knockout phase.
Ridge put up some stellar displays at the El-Wak stadium last season and Lawah reckons his charges are ready to surmount the big challenge.
‘We weren’t lucky last year buy we’re coming into the competition this time around with over 100 percent concentration.’ Lawah told basketballghana.com
‘We won’t give room for any sort of complacency. We suffered from that last year when we lost the title to Cantonment. But we’re a much different side now with young ballers who are keen to be part of history’.
‘They’re hungry for success and that excite me. Because that will prove the catalyst for us this year. I can only assure our teeming fans to continue to support us and that will motivate the young boys to bring honour to them and themselves’.
Community Dunks 2010 is an initiate of Rite Multimedia with support from Indomie Noodles and begins from Saturday September 11, 2010 (and every other Saturday from 3-8pm) at the University of Ghana basketball court.
