Manager of Kaneshie team, Sam Tagoe, is optimistic about his side’s chances in next week’s much anticipated U-18 basketball championship.
Kaneshie have been drawn in Pool B where they tackle powerhouse Ridge, Legon and Tema in the one month-long tournament.
The side’s opening group game is against highly-fancied Ridge at the University of Ghana basketball court on Saturday September 11 and the veteran coach admits the enormity of the task but reckons he has enough arsenals to kill off the challenge of the other teams in the group.
‘We know the opposition is very tough but we’ve been in this sort of situation before and therefore we’ll take on the teams as they come’ Tagoe told basketballghana.com
‘Ridge were second last year and so it tells you how strong the will be. They will be aiming to go a step further and possibly win the title. But they need to first of all contend with us before they begin to think about the ultimate’.
‘I’ve a group of young and hungry young men who are ready to explode and exhibit their talents to the rest of the world and so the competition has really come at an opportune time for them to finally showcase what they’ve got.’ he concluded
Community Dunks 2010 is an initiate of Rite Multimedia with support from Indomie Noodles and begins from Saturday September 11, 2010 (and every other Saturday from 3-8pm) at the University of Ghana basketball court.
