The lineup is complete as eight (8) privileged community teams finally get selected to compete in season-2 of Community Dunks 2010.
The 8 teams met the criteria for the championship and are now set to do battle on the court.
Defending champions Cantonment, Ridge, Ashaiman, Legon, Kaneshie, Maamobi-Kawukudi, Tema and new entrant Fadama will participate in the one- month long tournament at the University of Ghana basketball court beginning September 11 – 2 October. (3-7pm every Saturday).
The eight coaches of the participating communities held a fruitful discussion with the organizers – Rite Multimedia on Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Accra to thrash out few knotty details before the competition jump ball.
‘We are very satisfied with the arrangement this year and we hope to give our all in the 2010 edition of the competition’. Coach of Maamob-Kawukudi, Abeiku Sagoe told basketballghana.com
With the participating communities settled, attention will now be shifted to the court where they will engage each other in a grueling contest with the aim of annexing the trophy high on the agenda.
Already the tough talk has begun as the coaches of the various teams gather their loins for the massive showdown at the basketball court of Ghana’s premier University.
The draw for the group stages will be out next week but defending champions Cantonment will come up against rejuvenated sides who are eager to avenge their defeat they suffered at the hands of coach Sowah’s side.
Community Dunks 2010 is an initiative of Rite Multimedia and sponsored by Indomie, tastes great.
