Following an impressive run in the recently concluded Greater Accra basketball series, Hoops would extend their horizon with an international friendly against the Togolese National team on Saturday in Lome.
The Cape Coast based side have confirmed a deal has been stitched to play their counterpart from the country’s neighbouring country this weekend.
This would be the first international exposure for the side which lost grounds once in the league with their only defeat coming on the heels of a nail-biting fixture against 10-time champions CEPS.
They played some scintillating and awe-inspiring basketball games in the series and coach Claudius Thompson reckons the game will afford his players an opportunity to test their resolve against some of the tried and tested players on the African continent.
‘This would be a unique platform to learn more and gain an international experience’. Thompson told baskeballghana.com in an exclusive interview.
‘This is the first time that we would be playing outside Ghana and it would be interesting how it plays out in Lome on Saturday.
He added: We lost the league title t CEPS narrowly last season and we leave no stone unturned to wrestle the title from them next year.’
The side departs Ghana in the early morning of Saturday before they play their host in the later part of the day.

The Togolese basketball federation is reportedly bringing in five foreign-based players for evaluations.
Togo’s national-team is currently preparing for the zonal qualifiers to the 2011 African Championships, which will be hosted by the country this summer in August.
Two players are currently in the US, two in France and one in Senegal, but it has to be seen if the federation can come up with tickets for them as it’s the first time the small country is trying to beef up their squad with Diaspora…….AND WITH ALL THIS CAPE COAST BASED TEAM HOOPS GAVE THEM A TREAT OF THE PROWESS.I HEARD WHAT THE HOOPS GUYS DID AND I BELIEVE IF THE NATIONAL TEAM OF GHANA IS GIVEN THE CHANCE MEDALS WILL BE FLOWING IN THE COUNTRY.SO WHAT THE FUCK IS THE GBBA DOING AT ALL
