Holy Family produced a last surge to edge CYO 55-43 in an enthralling week- 2 of the ongoing Greater Accra Women’s basketball league at Tudu on Wednesday.
The Mataheko based side were impressive throughout the game as they displayed sheer determination and character to record their first win of the campaign.
Coach Samson Jackson of Holy Family was the drama king on the baseline as he issued instructions to his charges which propelled them to record the victory.
The other game on the day saw Tudu based Magic see off Air force based Turbo Jet 51-34 in another explosive encounter.
Magic were buoyed by their home fans and that gave them the impetus to drive on to record the 17 points difference.
Meanwhile Hoops ladies forfeited their points following their no-show against defending champions Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) in the final game of the day.
Details about their inability to make an appearance on the court remain sketchy but basketballghana.com sources reveal the players opted to stay in the classroom since the core of the team are currently schooling.
The action in the men’s division continues unabated on Friday and Saturday at the Prison court in Cantonment and Lebanon House, Tudu.
