Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah wants mushrooming basketball talents in the country to remain focus as they continue their build up to stardom.

The Director of Sports at the University of Ghana, Legon, is convinced that is the only line of attack to ensure their dream does not become an optical illusion.

Six Universities participated in the 21st edition of the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) basketball competition at the main court of the country’s premier University where huge talents were on shore.

The Thousands of fans who were mostly present during the five –day event described the performances of the various teams as “a fairytale ending from a Hollywood movie,” with most players distinguishing themselves as the future of the game in the West African region.

The University of Ghana sports’ chief reckons the players would attain their full potentials with commitment and determination to the game.

‘ From what I have seen here, I am more than convinced that even those who play in the NBA will admits that it is only a matter of time that we would catch up with them’ Ansah told basketballghana.com

‘It is important for these players to know that one can only realize his or her dream of playing at the top level if he or she remain focus and train seriously’.

‘I have being impressed with the number of talents the country abounds in and it give us hope that we are on course to get Ghana a great basketball team capable of competing at FIBA championships.

‘My only advice is for these players to hang in there and continue to train. For that is the only way to achieve success’.
