The Greater Accra Basketball League resumes on Wednesday afternoon at all the league centres following the successful completion of the GUSA games.
The league, which is under the organization of the Greater Accra Basketball Association, is played on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will showcase teams in the Accra and Tema metropolis, with both the male and female competing for honours.
The eleventh (11th) week fixtures promises to be stimulating and electrifying. Speed, aggression, tenacity will be the defining characteristics. But one thing that has become startlingly clear from the first ten games is, no team can be tagged as overwhelming favourite or a push over.
The judgement day begins this Wednesday, June 23 2010, 2pm at the Lebanon House, Tudu. It will be an all women affair. Hoops takes on CEPS, Magic are expected to face a stiff opposition from Turbo Jets in a must win encounter for both sides whiles C.Y.O engages Holy Family.
Led by their affable and experience Mathias Ocloo, C.Y.O have so far produced fine performances and attacked with a relentless gusto seldom seen elsewhere in a tournament that has flattered to deceive.
On Friday and Saturday, the men will flex their muscles. Two games on Friday, same venue as earlier – CEPS takes on Warriors whiles Fire Service plays Police then on Saturday, June 26 2010, 2pm at the Prisons court, Cantonments, C.Y.O lock horns with Reformers, Hoops engages Magic and Turbo Jet plays Lions in a match expected to generate fireworks.
