Warriors recorded 72-67 victory over Police to erase their weekend blues while Tema Youth lost grounds in week 9 of the Greater Accra basketball league on Wednesday afternoon.

The Nima-based Warriors bounced back from last week’s defeat to 9 –time champions CEPS and looked determined to carry the day with some swift fast breaks and amazing pointers to overcome and improbable 2-0 series deficit.

“I don’t know if you can say you have momentum when you came into a game defeated in the earlier one,” Warriors coach Abeiku Solomon told Basketballghana.com after the game. “I still look at it like we’re climbing a huge mountain.  But we are playing better.”

Meanwhile Reformers, seemingly lifeless after a blowout defeat in Game 8 to Yotive, suddenly have hope to be second. They broke out of their series-long shooting slump, making mince meat of favourite Tema Youth to triumph 66-55.

It was huge shock for a side that has looked impregnable all season but that is what can cost you when complacency set in your team.

The first week of the Women’s league jump ball on Thursday afternoon.
