Magic and Holy Family appear headed for a collision course when the two sides clash in the middle of the bill clash at the Lebanon House on Friday afternoon.
The Tudu based side (Magic) bounced back from their defeat against Customs Exercise and Preventive Service (CEPS) to triumph over bottom placed Turbo Jet in their last encounter.
They will draw inspiration from the home fans who are expected to offer their unflinching support but the Mataheko based Holy Family has promised not to be subdued by the occasion.
The big match up offers the opportunity for both teams to assert their authority on each other after a rather interesting seven weeks in the Greater Accra basketball league.
Both teams have lost three matches and won four respectively in the league and their meeting on Friday will underscore their ambition to end the league on a highly regarded position.
Holy Family has played a game more than Magic and lie on top of them on sixth position on the league table and this afternoon’s encounter will determine who reign supreme at the end of week eight of the GABL.
The final game for the day will see Reformers tackle Yotive in another close encounter.
Relegation threatened Yotive must lift up their game against their opponent if they want to keep their head afloat in the top flight league. Their plight was worsen by Warriors last week and will need to draw inspiration from somewhere to bounce back in style and aid their push to stay in the elite division.
The rest of the matches in week-8 will be concluded on Saturday at the Prisons Court, Cantonment when Fire clash with Panthers in the opening game at 2pm (local time) before Police battle C.Y.O and Tema Youth will tackle Abeiku Solomon’s Warriors.
Only 9 time champions CEPS and Hoops are unbeaten after eight round of matches in the league with four weeks to spare.
