The concluding fixtures of the 2010 Milo Junior Ball takes centre stage on Saturday March 27, organisers have confirmed.
The games were halted by a heavy downpour last weekend at the El-Wak stadium and organisers have fixed this Saturday for the completion of the tournament meant for basic schools.
Defending champions Great Lampety Mills, Garrison Basic School, Cape Coast based Hoops Care International and Ghana Lebanon Islamic School will sort things out for a ticket to play in the finals.
The Business Development Officer at Rite Multimedia, organisers of the competition, Albert Blankson Mensah expects a full house despite the least number of games that will be played.
‘You saw the number of people who came last week and we are sure that the number will increase this week.’ Mensah told basketballghana.com
‘What we are experiencing now is the revolution that we talked about and we are convinced that with the kind of interests shown by these kids we will hit our target sooner rather than later.’
‘It was unfortunate the rain made it impossible for us to continue and declare the winner on Saturday but I guess these are natural ocurences .’ He stressed.
‘We are looking forward to this Saturady for the phase –two of the competition and the other exciting activities like singing and dancing, face painting, lucky dip among others will excite the young ones.
The event is sponsored by MILO – the energy food drink of future champions with support from Indomie, Fan Milk, Voltic, GTV and Joy FM and produced by Rite Multimedia, leaders in basketball development in Ghana.
