Legon hall may have failed to defend their trophy in the recently concluded Legon Dunks 2010 but point guard Kelvin Ankrah held fans spell bound with some amazing slam dunks at the one-day tournament.
Ankrah produced an exhilarating display on the main basketball court of the University of Ghana which has left a huge imprint in the minds of the thousands of fans who witnessed the competition on Thursday.
The star player from the premier hall capped an incredible day by winning the slam dunk competition at the expense of four others and subsequently took away an Ipod as his prize from major sponsor Tigo.
His sublime piece of skills, astonishing speed, and firepower caught the admiration of the crazy basketball fans who thronged the venue.
Four traditional halls and four other hostels participated in the season –two of prestigious Legon Dunks where Akuafo hall dislodged defending champions Legon hall to emerge new champions for the first time in the hall’s rich history.
The 2010 edition of the Legon Dunks continue to earn rave reviews on campus and many other campuses nationwide as the basketball revolution in Ghana continues unabated.
