The upcoming Legon Dunks has cast a huge shadow over all activities on the campus of the University of Ghana as the most prestigious basketball tournament swings into action on Thursday afternoon.
The main court of the country’s premier university will be the centre of attraction when four traditional halls and three other international hostels gather their lions for an exciting one-day tournament in two days time.
Basketballghana.com can confirm that all the participating halls have confirmed their participation in the basketball fiesta at Legon as all roads lead to campus.
Pundits have taggged defending champions Legon Hall as the favourite for their second successive title but reckon Commonwealth hall (vandals) will be their toughest challenge in the tournament.
That however does not rule out the threat pose by the dark horses of the competition, Akuafo and Pentagon hall who have promised to cause a major upset.
Thousands of students of Legon, Commonwealth (vandals), Akuafo and Sarbah halls together with their compatriot at Evandi, Pentagon, Bani and international student hostel are expected to troop to the venue in numbers to offer camaraderie and unflinching support to their respective halls.
The Legon dunks on Thurday has caught the imagination and attention of most students on campus who have vowed to make the day a historic one as the premier hall celebrates it 58th hall anniversary.
Legon dunks 2010 is brought to you by Tigo – the network that actually works and supported by Forever easy, Voltic Mineral water and Indomie Noodles.
