Preparations for season-two of the prestigious Legon dunks are well on course with barely a week for the commencement of the one-day tourney and that’s according to the chairman of the publicity committee, Samuel Owusu Baah.
The main court of the country’s premier University is expected to be branded on Tuesday as expectations reach high level among students on campus as Legon hall launches their 58th one-week anniversary on Friday March 12.
Four traditional halls and four other international hostels will do battle for honours in the biggest and high status basketball competition among the halls on campus.
Aside the basketball competition on Thursday 18 March, 2010, other activities like singing, drumming and chanting among the various halls is also expected to hog the limelight.
Legon dunks season-two will also offer the platform for either revenge or reinforcement of dominance and Owusu Baah claims the stage is set for a big showdown of great basketball artistry.
‘Everything is on course for Legon dunks which is the finest in the university and students will enjoy themselves when they troop to the main Legon basketball court.’ Baah told basketballghana.com
‘We have worked tirelesly on it and we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Legon dunks become a huge success.’
‘We did it big last year and we are committed to improve on it this year. We are the defending champions and we do know that other halls will love to come for our title but that wont be easy for them.’
‘We have the strongest team and we are determined to keep the title for another year.
