Zaid Abbaas will feature prominently for Jordan at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey but for now, the athletic forward is making a name for himself in China.
Abbaas led the Shanghai Sharks to a 119-113 overtime win against Bayi in the CBA on Wednesday with 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
He is averaging almost 14 points and 11 rebounds per contest.
Abbaas was not the only national team star in the game.
Bayi’s China international Wang ZhiZhi had a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds in defeat.
Shanghai are now 7-3 and in fourth place while Bayi are 6-5 and in seventh.
At the top of the standings are Guandong, who breezed to a 10th consecutive triumph on Wednesday.
They prevailed 115-94 at strugglers Tianjin Rongcheng.
Xinjiang and Zheijiang Guangsha both improved to 9-1 after victories over Shandong and Beijing.
