The Volta Regional Physical Education Coordinator, Felix Akatupe has praised the level of competition in this year’s Sprite Ball Championship held at the Ho Stadium at the weekend.
Schools who took part in the one-day tournament on Saturday have earned rave reviews for the performances and Akatupe is convinced the Volta Regional represenatives for the grand finale in Accra will not be pusovers.
The boys from the Keta Senior High (Ketasco) defended the trophy they won last year in an astonishing fashion beating perrenial rivals Keta Business School (Ketabusco) in a tense-final.
The female team from Nkwanta Senior High also followed in the foot steps of Ketasco by retaining the title they annexed last season at the same venue.
Akatupe told basketballghana: The kind of performance that was exhibited indicates that the region is growing massively in the game’
‘We are not afraid of the so-called big schools who will be in Accra for the grand finale. We are alsohave first class schools who are going to showcase the talents that they’ve got.’
‘ Our representative will prove very difficult to beat because I have seen huge improvement in their style of play and that make me very convinced that we can do well at the El-Wak Stadium.
