The point guard of the Koforidua Secondary and Technical School, Emmanuel Ekow Amoako, has been speaking to basketballghana.com after emerging as arguably the best player in the Eastern Regional Sprite ball championship at Koforidua.

The 17-year-old inspired his team to go through the group stages unbeaten but they failed to find their rhythm at the semi-final stage when they shockingly lost to Pope John’s Senior High and Seminary but qualified for the grand final in Accra on technicalities.

But the home side will take consolation in the fact that Amoako displayed sublime piece of skills, nimbleness and resilience which caught the eye and attention of officials and fans at the venue.

He told basketballghana: ‘I am sad we were unable to win the title but I think we have another opportunity to make amends in Accra’

‘We are grateful to Sprite and the other sponsors who have given us the opportunity to exhibit our talents and make our dream come true.’

‘I believe if they continue in this direction, the days of Ghana unable to form a solid team to represent the country in international matches will be a thing of the past’.

He is expected to spearhead his school’s quest to unseat Achimota Senior High in the grand finale of the Sprite ball championship at the El-Wak Stadium on December 19th and 20th. He is one certainly made for the future.
