The assistant headmaster in charge of domestic at the Koforidua Secondary Technical School (KSTS), Emmanuel Okoh, has predicted the game of basketball will become a major force in Ghana in a couple of years.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Eastern regional Sprite Ball Championship on Saturday, the 55-year-old urged more companies to believe in the dream of Rite Multimedia as they continue the quest to develop and promote the game in the West African Country.
Sixteen schools participated in the one-day tournament characterized by shock, excitement and massive improvement as compared to last year event.
Okoh who was the special Guest of Honour at the tournament said he was convinced the game will serve as a catalyst to gain national attention and recognition.
‘If you look at how Sprite and other companies are helping Rite Multimedia to develop the game, one can only say that its just a matter of time before the game reaches the highest level in the country.’ Okoh told basketballghana.
‘I am impressed with the way Rite Multimedia are putting in effort to develop and promote the game in the country and I am hopeful that it will yield positive results in the very near future.’
According to Okoh, he has no doubt that the game will become the second most preferred game in Ghana if all the stakeholders continue to believe in the game.
